Made at Sac State
Have you seen us on the Sacramento State Highway 50 billboard yet? Recently, Five Star Bank was invited to be a part of the “Made at Sac State” campaign. The university hosted all of our Sacramento State graduates at a photo shoot on campus and a week later we were famous in 8-second increments! Surely if you add up all the times our billboard will be seen we’ll get close to 15 minutes of fame. In the spirit of full disclosure, I graduated from San Francisco State University. However, they invited me to be a part of the photo too. It was a proud day for me and a proud day for Five Star Bank.
The “Made at Sac State” idea is a great one isn’t it? Using locally owned businesses to showcase the local talent that is educated at a local institution of higher learning. The experience made me think about other “Made at” sources of pride in our area. The educational gems that we have in this region surely top the list. The quality of life in the communities that make up this region is another one. From enjoying the American River Parkway to the renaissance that has occurred in midtown and downtown Sacramento over the last 10 years or so, it’s a great time to be a local here.
Wouldn’t it be great if everyone took pride in our region … enjoyed all it has to offer, or started a business here, or got engaged civically, or simply thanked those who are?
